Írjon visszajelzéstThe restaurant left much to the imagination. Though we were taken care of very quickly and politely by the hostesses, presumably over a drink order and the young lady not being old enough to handle alcohol (which was absolutely fine and no trouble on our end at all), the waiter seemed a bit out of touch, especially with communication with the cooks over availability of the menu items, and then bringing the entree before the salad he was polite and apologetic, however. The prime rib was disappointing; overly crusted and seasoned. However the sides were pretty darn good and the au jus was simply the best I?ve ever had!
This is a convenient place to dine if you're staying at the Cottonwood Inn. They have a pretty spacious dining room and separate bar area. The menu covers all of the bases: seafood, steaks, breakfast, dinner plates, wings,.. whatever you're in the mood for. You'll definitely get your money's worth because portions are generous, and dinner entrees come with unlimited soups or salads. On the down side, the food is pretty mediocre. Nothing really has flavor, so you'll have to rely heavily on condiments, salt, and pepper to get a decent meal. I don't know if Glasgow has much better to offer, so I wouldn't deter you from giving The Wood a try.
We spent Sunday night at the hotel and decided to have breakfast at the restaurant at 8 a.m. When we got there, we were told we would have to wait 45 to 60 minutes for a table, which felt excessively long, especially since the restaurant was not even half full. We tried to call a nearby pizza place for delivery, but they informed us they don't deliver to our hotel. What if we wanted pizza? It wasn't available on the menu either! Faced with limited choices, we went ahead and placed our order. The food finally arrived at 9 a.m., but my chicken-fried steak was overcooked, and all the dishes were lukewarm. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
I came across an advertisement in the newspaper for a Father's Day lunch buffet at a specific price. However, by the time we arrived and placed our order, the buffet menu had changed from BBQ ribs to chopped pork or beef, accompanied by potatoes and beets, and a salad bar that only included Brussels sprouts, beets, and a limited selection of vegetables. My husband deserves better, and it was a major letdown. We dine out several times a week, and I was really looking forward to a nice meal on Father's Day. Unable to order from the buffet, I chose Italian noodles, which were served with just chicken and Brussels sprouts, plus a side salad. My husband selected the dinner special while I only had the salad. His special was priced at $18, while my dish cost $19! I find it unacceptable for the management to change the menu at the last minute like that. We won't be returning!
We had an amazing experience with delicious food and outstanding service. I only wish I could remember the name of our waitress, as she was wonderful, witty, and exceptionally kind, just like her husband.
