Home Plate Grill - Goleta

We went to this adorable little restaurant for dinner and were impressed by the variety of options on the menu. I ordered the tri tip salad with cilantro lime dressing and it was delicious and generously portioned. We will definitely have to come back before we leave for Arizona!

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I was disappointed with my order. My husband and I ordered the Home Plate pizza, which sounded amazing. However, when we opened the pizza box at home, we were disappointed to find that there was only one piece of tri-tip and maybe two pieces of sausage on each slice. The pizza was overloaded with cheese and sauce, making it soggy. We had to put our slices in the air fryer to crisp them up before we could eat them. We probably won't return for pizza, but we might consider trying something else in the future.

Home Plate is definitely the place to go in Goleta! In the almost 4 years that I have been eating here, my expectations have always been surpassed with regard to the food. The Chili Verde Rancheros Wrap is something you shouldn't skip on for breakfast!

This place is great! It's the epitome of a diner/greasy spoon. It has a huge menu for both breakfast and lunch. The sandwich list is extensive and the breakfast options are unique. All of the food is created in the kitchen that's not very big but it pumps out the food in an efficient manner. Inside is very basic four booths , some tables and there's some outside seating as well. It's clean and well organized and the owner is friendly. Easy parking and very reasonable pricing. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was good, the meat was a little sparse. I took one half of the sandwich and loaded the insides onto the other half and it was quite a filling meal. We will definitely return and I'm looking forward to trying their Reuben sandwich.
