The chicken here is of excellent quality, and I highly recommend trying the plain chicken accompanied by plain fries and a tasty sauce like sweet chili. The chicken tenders actually contain more chicken than the sandwich, making them a better value for the same price.

However, when the food finally arrived, it was quite delicious. On my first visit, I ordered the Wise Vegan sandwich, which was served on a warm whole wheat bun and came with avocado, tomato, hummus, and greens. The flavors were wonderfully balanced, and the avocado was exceptionally fresh. Although the sandwich wasn’t particularly large, I felt satisfied after I ate it—typically, with larger sandwiches, I save half for later. During my second visit, I tried the Thai Chicken salad (I added chilis and substituted in organic vegan protein). The dressing was delightful, and the staff were generous with the broccoli, wonton strips, and roasted almonds. The portion of protein was also quite substantial. I ended up saving half for later, and it tasted even better after the dressing had soaked into the vegan protein. There was a minor issue: the staff forgot to include the half-roll that usually comes with the salad. I only realized this right before leaving, so I informed the employee at the counter. As an apology, she kindly gave me a whole roll to take home. I definitely plan to return as long as they can reopen after the pandemic. I'm excited to try other salads with vegan protein. One disappointment was the tempting cookies at the register. I asked if they planned to offer fresh-baked vegan cookies (which are often sold out at Campus Point Coffee across the street), but I was told they didn’t think there was enough demand. If anyone from Silvergreens is reading this: trust me, there is demand! The Ahi salad is excellent, and the burgers and breakfast burritos are quite satisfying as well. If you can’t decide what to order, I recommend trying the half and half option, but be sure to take advantage of the free upgrade!

The gaucho sandwich with bacon and avocado is fantastic!
