4.5. Best American Chinese in Santa Barbara. Chinese food always sounds like a great idea and I almost always regret it- too oily, mushy vegetables, questionable meat. Red Pepper was none of those things and was everything I had wished for. Onion pancake and pork dumpling appetizers, general tsao, pork chow fun. The only recommendation I can make is choose your dips with focus, they are not enough for the appetizers. Make sure you order enough dips. The pork chow fun is the best I've had outside or Toronto and Vancouver. General tsaos was reliably good. Batter fried but the meat, flavorings and vegetables are great. Best American Chinese food in SB.

I recently ordered delivery from Red Pepper and couldn't have been happier. This is the first time I've eaten their food after they closed and reopened. I ordered the kung pao beef, mushu pork, combination chow fun, onion pancake, and general tao's chicken. All of them were delicious and survived the drive from Old Town to my place. There were a lot of varieties of flavors. I'm definitely looking forward to ordering more from Red Pepper soon!

The spicy basil beef and the Szechuan fish fillet are insane! I will definitely miss this when I move out
