John's Seafood Poboy - Gonzales

I’ve visited this restaurant a few times and always ordered the same dish. Unfortunately, on this occasion, I was served the wrong meal. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, she said she couldn’t make it right or issue a refund. If the food hadn’t been old, I might have been okay with it, but it really reflected poorly on the business overall.

The best restaurant in Gonzales! The prices, the food, and the atmosphere are all fantastic. We make sure to visit every time we’re in town!

We decided to give this restaurant a try while we were in the area, especially since it had some positive reviews. However, I suspect the owner may have written those. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. There was barely anything on the sandwich, and the tartar and cocktail sauces were more like a thin smear rather than actual sauces – I’m not sure how to describe them. The iced tea was disappointing as well; I couldn’t even finish it. I would recommend dining elsewhere!

Good food at a good price. My only concern is when you call ahead, you still have a wait! Today I called, was placed on hold and left there. I called back, placed my order, and it was like they didn't start preparing it until I walked in which defeats the purpose.
