The Sailmaker - Gosport

The staff are very helpful and the food is great. Adam who served our carvery was very friendly. I highly recommend this great family pub.

Popped in for a quick drink with a group of friends. Got greeted on arrival with a friendly smile and a genuine hello. We found a table, then popped to the bar to order. Everything was as expected. We stayed for a few more and the next thing you know we are in for the night and getting food. We went to the bar and got met by Brooke who greeted us with yet another friendly smile. The food was spot on, especially for the time of night, yet still just as expected. We ordered some shots and Tilly, did a great job pouring some shot cocktails she wasn’t sure how to pour, but she absolutely smashed it.

Found the drinks served to be expensive. i.e. half glass on hobgoblin beer with half glass of lemonade (SHANDY PINT) WAS CHARGED £4.5 while a large glass of wine was £7.50. found this to be the most expensive drinks being charged for in the Gosport area Wont be visiting this place in the future

We have been frequently coming to the Sailmaker and are always greeted by Andy. He is a breath of fresh air. So welcoming and attentive and goes above and beyond what his role requires. I have two young children who absolutely adore him- he is fantastic with children. It is so refreshing to see someone who genuinely cares about making the customer's experience really enjoyable and he goes above and beyond every time we see him- nothing is ever a burden and it is obvious to see that he is a genuinely nice and attentive person. I haven't come across someone in the industry like him in so long; it is humbling to be in his company and if more people were like him the world would be a kinder place. He is a pure gem of a man and an asset to the company.

I’ve been frequently Sailmaker regularly up until the lockdown then returned when safe to. My first visit last year wasn’t great as the young waitress argued with me over opened wine was just plain rude. This put me off returning. However a discount coupon changed my mind I went back for my usual carvery, which is excellent here. From the start I was greeted warmly and served immediately in a friendly way. I had my usual carvery, which was delicious. Throughout my time there both Rich Andy were run run off their feet, but their friendly helpful demeanour didn’t change at all. I even remarked to them how impressed I was with them both thanked them for their excellent service. I stayed for a pudding finally left 2 hours later! All to say I really wanted to express my thanks appreciated to these two guys for most enjoyable eating out experience I’ll certainly be back!
