Having visited Thailand several times, I can confidently say this place doesn't offer anything remotely "authentic." On a positive note, the staff and the restaurant's atmosphere were pleasant, but I was really disappointed with the food.
They claim to be authentic, but the kra pao resembles and tastes like Chinese food from Safeway. The only hint of authenticity was the half basil leaf I found buried under all the carrots, mushrooms, and peas. It was more like a vegetable soup. There were hardly any authentic ingredients. This isn’t Thai food. It’s not original, and it’s not delicious.
It was just average. This was my first visit, and the service was friendly. I ordered BBQ chicken with spring rolls and rice, while my friend got pad thai with white rice. My BBQ chicken was cooked, but it didn't have much sauce—it's like they poured the sauce on the plate first and then placed the grilled chicken on top. My friend's pad thai was also mediocre; it lacked a strong flavor. I'd consider going back, but it wouldn't be my top choice.
Well if you know what thai food is supposed look like and taste like you will be disappointed ... This is one of the worst experiences I have had... We got the tom yum shrimp soup... In the soup there was no lemon grass no galangal root no tamarind and no lime juice... It basically tasted like a 25cent beef ramen noodle that was made with to much water.... My family doesn 't like it very hot so they ordered thier food a 2.. but I do so I got the beef salad and I ordered it a 5 ... It was was the worst one Ive ever had it was missing so many ingredients and it was tasteless. It was like going to the cheese cake factory and ordering a Thai beef salad but it ended up tasting better than mekongs beef salad. . It didn 't even have the basic ingredient.. ground toasted rice powder...even though I ordered it a 5 my family was able to eat it... I should have known it wasn 't going to be hot because the only thing they use to make something spicy is the dried peppers that they use at a pizza parlor . The reason I know this is because I asked what they use and the waiter brought it out to show me.We ordered chefs special... the crispy fried pork. The sauce was good but the pork wasn 't crispy the texture was just chewy like they fried it in under temperature oil for to long.. it was more like jerky...The egg rolls I 'll give a 5 and the pad Thai I 'll give it a 3 ... The service was very good and the servers were very friendly and made sure we had what we needed.. but the thing they were unable to do was give was good Thai food... But I 'll I 'll give 0 's for everything else .. I had to put 1 to be able to leave a review
Thought I lost a tooth when I bit into a chunk of rock salt. Popeye chicken was dry. Curry so overpowered with ginger that the omnivore in our group couldn’t finish it. Been coming here with the work crew consistently over the last two years and sadly will take me and my workers elsewhere until quality improves. Their iced tea and coffee is still the best in town.
