While attending an event at the racetrack in Grand Bend, we were searching for a restaurant that could accommodate our large group. After calling a few places, we stumbled upon Sandbar. Initially, we were hesitant as the menu featured a mix of Mexican, Indian, and Canadian cuisine. However, our doubts were quickly dispelled when we were warmly welcomed by Julia, our server. She effortlessly handled our group with grace and efficiency, even providing information on ingredients for a member with food allergies. Our dishes were all generously portioned, with one member craving extra spice receiving a special Indian side dish from the owner, Roro. The back patio, complete with a massive Oak tree dropping acorns, added to the charming atmosphere. Despite initially doubting our choice, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Sandbar. With not a single complaint from our party, we learned to set aside our judgments and simply enjoy the dining experience. Remember, not every restaurant will please every customer, so just relax and savor the moment!
We just wanted some drinks appetizers saw this bar on the strip. Went in ordered some beers, wings rib tips. Those were the best wings I’ve ever had. Crunch and full of flavor! The rib tips were so tender. What a great...place. It was a Friday night they had a singer there playing a guitar on top of it. Real nice place with great food good atmosphere
The chef at this unsanitary establishment was caught stealing toys from a child under one year old, prompting the owners to retrieve the stolen items from his car. Additionally, the restaurant shows a lack of consideration for the local community by playing loud music late at night, disturbing both residents and children. Customers should be aware that the food being served includes frozen pizza and chicken fingers from a box. It is advised to avoid this restaurant as it is evident that they are only interested in taking your money for subpar food. This establishment is not recommended for dining and reflects poorly on the reputation of Grand Bend restaurants.
The first red flag was the fact that there was only one other table of customers when I arrived at dinner hour during the middle of August, high season. I decided to give the place a chance anyway, recalling the good meals I have had...there in the past. Big mistake. From the greasy photocopied menu, I chose what should have been a safe bet: burger and fried. Wrong. I ordered the burger medioum. It arrived burned. Blackened all around. If I hadn't be so hungry, I would have sent it back. I should have. The fries were stale, hard, darkened nasty things. At least the beer was good. Tough to screw that one up. I don't know who the owners are, but they clearly have little idea of how to run a restaurant. The back patio was a mess, and despite the roar of an industrial sized air conditioning unit, the inside of the place was sweltering hot. Avoid this disaster until some real owners can run a proper restaurant in this prime location.
