Yavapi Tavern is by far the best restaurant in the Grand Canyon. We ate many of the decent restaurants scattered around the canyon through our 4 days of fun, but always back to the tavern. Great options in the menu, some good beers, child-friendly, fast service and even vegan Vegetarian friendly! One of the better impossibility of Burgers I had in a while. My child loved the Grilled Cheese, as well as the Kids Cheese Burger. Nachos are delicious and a large portion of size to share the table. Last night I tried the Mulled wine and it was absolutely delicious. Overall, this tavern loved and so glad to find this quality of food in a national park. He made the hikes through the park, that was worth it when we spent every evening in the Tavern time.
Get into the line to order your food, tell them in the indoor or outdoor seat, take a number for your order, then they will bring the food to you. You need to get some food from the dining room inside. Loved the Hamburg fruity salad with optional chicken. The green apple Slave as a side was excellent. The vegan packaging was simply OK, accidentally ordered.
Really tasty food. I had the Elk Melt with their potato salad and it was excellent. My husband had a wrap that had turkey and bacon. He enjoyed it. He also had a kale slaw that was really great. It had pears, kale, and some other shaved veggies in a champagne vinaigrette. I'm not a coleslaw fan and I loved it. They're open from noon to 9pm, and we found it to be pretty busy at 8pm. They do get food out quite quickly, but don't rush you to finish. We appreciated that. We grabbed food there on two occasions and were just as happy about our meal the second time. The food isn't cheap, but it's also not overly expensive. A person can grab something for under $15.
Had the Elk Burger and Pulled pork sandwich and was really good!! The kettle chips were just reg chips not like special fried, but we loved the variety and uniqueness of the main entree menu items. Just casual vibe, you walk up and order at the counter and they bring it to you.
