La Huasteca - Grand Rapids

My husband and I came in for dinner at 7:15pm on a Saturday. There was only 1 other table finishing up eating. We asked the staff if we sat ourselves since there was no hostess. We were clearly being ignored and then finally the waitress came up and we asked her if we seat ourselves. She was clearly very annoyed we were there (rolling her eyes and checking the time). We double checked their hours prior to going out for dinner and even their website says they are open till 10. Will never come back here, which is a shame because we live near this restaurant and was hoping for a positive experience.

Very good authentic Mexican. I like eating here they are friendly and make most things fresh to order. I recommend this place not trendy just good traditional

If I was rating on food alone it would be a 5 star. However, the person who operates the phone orders is rude and unprofessional. We called last night and were hung up on twice and once they answered the employee asked if we could hold on, the phone was set down for a few minutes and then again was hung up. I would love to support this local business in my neighborhood but not with that kind of service. El Cunado it is !

A diamond in the rough. The place isn't much to look at but the food was phenomenal and the staff was so kind and friendly. The made to order tortilla chips with salsa were so good. I had the mole enchilada's and they were incredible and when they say they are spicy they mean it! Everything that we ordered was fresh and flavorful. We will be back.

Had lunch with my son on Halloween. I thoroughly enjoyed the carne asada burrito. While I ate the whole thing, I probably should've cut it in half and ate the the rest for lunch the next day! It is pretty filling. My son said he enjoyed his carne asada tacos. We both will visit again.
