The pastie was primarily filled with potatoes, containing just a small piece of meat. I ordered the pot roast pastie. For service, I opted for takeout. The meal was for lunch, and the price per person ranged from $50 to $100. Overall, I would rate the food a 2, the service a 3, and the atmosphere also a 3.
What a fantastic discovery while exploring South Lake! The Danish pastries were delicious, and the sandwiches looked amazing. I wish we had something like this in my hometown. The service was great, too!
Many years ago, my parents would take us on trips to Grass Valley, where we would enjoy delicious pasties. It had been quite a while since I had tasted an authentic Cornish pasty, and this place did not disappoint. Their pasties are large and filled to the brim with a simple mix of steak, potatoes, onion, and parsley all wrapped in flaky dough and baked to perfection. They offer a variety of filling options, and even though I no longer eat beef, I made an exception and was thrilled that I did. The shop was bustling when we arrived, and they had run out of Cornish pasties. However, after a brief stroll around Mill Street, we returned to find our tasty treats fresh out of the oven. They stayed hot all the way to the Fairgrounds. The customer service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again. Just for the record, my only exceptions to not eating beef are an In-N-Out burger maybe once a year and a carne asada burrito at La Cumbre even less often.
