After a 2 Hour drive we stopped here to meet friends on our way to our house in the Poconos. It had been a while since we’ve been here but the food is just as good as it always has been. Staff was very friendly and the prices are reasonable.
During our getaway in the Poconos, we stumbled upon this restaurant with low expectations, assuming they would only have typical pub food. However, we were pleasantly surprised! The tuna tartare appetizer was incredibly fresh and delicious. The warm bread with honey butter and complimentary dinner salads were a nice touch. The entrees, including my husband's scallops and my branzino shrimp special, were absolutely fantastic. Everything was fresh, expertly prepared, and made with care. We also enjoyed the delicious limoncello cake for dessert, which we shared. Our server, Taylor, provided friendly and attentive service, deserving a special mention.
The food and service at this restaurant are excellent! To start, I had the French onion soup, which was incredibly beefy and probably the best I've ever had. For dinner, I tried the Overboard's Cioppino, which was made with shrimp, clams, mussels, lobster, and salmon in a light, aromatic broth served over rice. It was absolutely delicious! My fiancé ordered the chicken saltimbocca, which was tender and full of flavor. The Marsala sauce was packed with large chunks of fresh mushrooms, and he loved every bite. Our 12-year-old nephew had the petite filet, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. This was definitely one of the best meals I've had on Lake Wally. If you haven't been yet, you need to make a trip to this restaurant.
I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster bisque and stuffed mushrooms at this restaurant. I highly recommend them. However, as a culinary expert, I observed several waitresses and the hostess walking behind the bar. In my opinion, only the bartender should be behind the bar. They were in the way and out of place. I also witnessed a waitress using a glass to scoop ice, which is the bartender's job. Waitresses should stick to the server station and respect their bartender.
