1909 - Grove

So atmosphere was wonderful and our waitress was great, the food came pretty looking and had great ingredients, but not one of us 4 felt that it tasted as good as it looked. We wouldn't go back there because

1909 is a great place for food and drink. They offer gluten free options and they have a full bar. Friendly and helpful staff. Great ambiance!

I wish I could say everything was flawless, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. After our last experience where we had to wait due to not having a reservation—our mistake—we made a reservation for 7:00 PM tonight. We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated right away. We ordered our drinks, and then the waiting began. About 15 minutes later, our waitress brought our drinks and took our food order. Just to note, there were only two of us at 8:00 PM, and we requested some bread because we were starting to feel quite hungry. After an hour and 10 minutes, we still hadn’t received any food. At 8:25 PM, we were finally served our lukewarm appetizers. As a gesture for the inconvenience, we were offered dessert. This restaurant has the potential to be great for the Grove, but it’s likely to struggle if they can’t improve their service. This dinner was meant to be a second chance for 1900 after a similar disappointing experience two weeks ago, but it turned out to be even worse this time.

Wow, what a gem! The food here is truly one-of-a-kind for the area, and everything we tasted was delicious. We even returned for dinner two nights in a row! The pork belly and the chocolate cake nearly brought tears to my eyes—they were that amazing! I only wish I could visit more often!

This restaurant was a delightful surprise. The quality of both the food and service surpassed that of many establishments I've encountered in city centers of larger cities. They also offer an impressive selection of beer and wine compared to other restaurants in the area. I highly recommend this place.
