El Mexicana - Guildford

I have eaten at this restaurant twice and have thoroughly enjoyed the food on both occasions. However, my most recent visit today was disappointing as I experienced very rude and unhelpful customer service from a staff member named "Nicoleta."

I did not like this dish. It looked appealing with a diverse range of ingredients enclosed in a large roll, but when I tried it, it didn't meet my expectations. The seasoning was unlike anything I have tasted at other restaurants. It is possible that this type of meal is not suitable for my palate.

I ordered the vegetarian burrito with rice and refried beans at this restaurant and shared it with my three-year-old child. Later that night, both my child and I were vomiting for several hours. My husband and other son, who had eaten elsewhere, did not get sick. Since I had not eaten anything else that day, it is likely that the burrito was the cause of our illness. I suspect that the rice may have been the culprit, as the restaurant was not very crowded when we were there, and the rice could have been sitting at room temperature for a long time.

Wasn't very busy just one person serving was on the phone with his foot propped up on the wall. Asked for an extra and was told NO

Upon my visit to El Mexicana at Guildford food court I had heard very positive things about the place... however It was quite the opposite. To start off the nachos were just as rubbery as the cheese the peppers tasted as if they were 4 days old. Black beans usually my favourite part however today that was not the case Arguably the most bland black beans I 've ever tasted. The only thing that stopped me from giving El Mexicana a 1 is that the chilli beef was actually really flavoursome however when the portion size of the meat is just enough to feed a 2 week old baby it can 't merit a 3 star. Finally of course when you get hot food you 're always going to want a drink to cool down your mouth but when you pay 1.49 for a half full orangeade premium and have to go and fill it up at subway there 's only one way to feel and that is disappointed. All in all KFC could have done a better job. I will not be returning.
