George's Grill 200 - Gulfport

The portions are large and the food looks appetizing and is seasoned well. It is somewhat disorganized for taking orders, but if you were in the service was good. I would recommend this place for those who want a home soul food.

We ordered delivery through FoodNow, so not sure how the actual building is, but the food was AMAZING! Smothered pork chops were lightly fried (so it didn't get soggy in the gravy) and perfectly seasoned, with a delicious, slightly spicy, fairly thin gravy (more of a pan sauce). Fried chicken was very lightly breaded, also perfectly seasoned, and delightfully crispy. As for the sides: mac n cheese was very rich and creamy, with tasty baked cheese on top; collards were well cooked, slightly spicy, and didn't need any doctoring (high praise from my husband, who almost always needs to add vinegar to greens); with all the food, we just had a bite of the potato salad before saving it for later, but what we had of that was just as good as the rest. Awesome food, great price (under $25 with delivery fee and driver tip, for two people, and we have some left over). We will definitely be eating this again before too much longer!

Got a taste for soul food? George's is your place. A lot of great food. Inexpensive too. The only thing they're missing is the neck bones. Lol.

This was a fantastic venue for our family event. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was very friendly and welcoming.

Oh my goodness, this place is a must-try! It’s the best soul food restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. The portion sizes are generous and well worth the price. The staff and owners are delightful. I couldn’t be happier with my visit!
