The Quarter - Gulfport

This restaurant is my go-to for lunch and dinner. The service is always fast and the food is consistently delicious. My favorite dish is the chargrilled Orleans-style oysters.

We had a wonderful server named Nisha at this restaurant! My husband really enjoyed his shrimp and grits, giving it a rating of 4/5. I ordered the voodoo chicken sandwich, which came with a Caesar salad. I would rate the chicken sandwich a 3.5/5 and the Caesar salad a 1/5 because it was too salty. We also tried the fried green tomatoes and crab cake appetizer, which I would rate a 3. Overall, we might consider trying a different restaurant next time we are in the area.

I wanted to update my review of Halfshell Gulfport since my last one was written 7 years ago. My family and I have been dining here regularly, about every quarter. We kicked off 2024 with a Friday night dinner at Halfshell, where we ordered the Royal red fish, mahi, oyster sampler, and a kids cheeseburger, all of which were delicious and consistent in flavor. The charbroiled oysters are always a favorite of ours. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we were seated promptly, which is unusual for us as we usually expect a wait. The atmosphere at Halfshell Gulfport is relaxed, casual, and perfect for a family dinner or date night. We look forward to dining here again soon. Thanks, Halfshell!

First and foremost I want to say I absolutely love this restaurant and always try to patronize it when I'm in town; however, my latest visit was VERY disappointing. The server was okay but hard to find at times. The food was average at best and almost subpar. My bf and I LOVE oysters and we were excited to get the chargrilled oysters but what we were presented was unacceptable. I had to ask the server to re-fire 6 of them because they were completely burnt. Without the stuffing my eggplant would've been completely bland. He ordered the pasta and gave it a 5/10 due to lack of sauce. I hate we didn't enjoy ourselves but I'll be back to give them another chance.

I was in town for business with a colleague and one of our local team mates suggested Half shell to us. We definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Our waitress Jill was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive, she made sure our glasses stayed full and she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The only downside.....not a big enough stomach to eat all the food on the menu . We will be back the next time we are in town and the next and the next. Great job Jill and Half shell
