Stables Cafe - Guthrie

Really enjoyed the appetizer (potato skins with brisket) but had to wait for app plates and napkins. Salad was decent but basic. Ribs and coleslaw were good, beans ok. Waitress was good about keeping our drinks filled

This place gets away with the fact that it?s always been here. The food was meh. The service was pretty terrible. They weren?t very busy so that?s not the reason for bad service. The waitress literally plopped my plate on the table and walked away. Nowords, nothing. She came back a little later and said she would bring the rest in a minute. Several minutes later she broughtthe rest. Didn?t check on me after that. When it was time to pay, she came with a machine, put it on the table and said thisis how you?ll pay. Then walked away.

First time here and the service and atmosphere are pretty cool. However the food is just so so. Not bad but we live in Norman and would not make the trip back for the food

I want to preface this with COVID info: I love that even though they are rural, they take precautions for COVID. These include wait staff making salad bar plates based on what you want. Also, they provide gloves for you at the bigger buffet to use! We were so pleased with this place during our trip that we ate here two days in a row. The first time was at the Tap Room and the second day we tried to go back, but it was closed so we went to Stables instead. It was a small section of the restaurant tucked away on the side of the main restaurant. They connect, but you only have to go to the main part if you get a buffet. We were serviced by the bartender and one other lady. Both were sweethearts and tended to our every need! I asked the bartender to make me a sweet drink and it was perfection. So good that I couldn't even taste the alcohol and was able to drink it all! We got the salad bar, which was delicious and had a lot of options. The homemade ranch was drinkable. We also got the buffet with bbq chicken and other items. I was not too thrilled with the bbq, but I am very picky, so it is probably enjoyable to most people. My second visit, I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese and those were AMAZING. I am day-dreaming of it right now! I can't wait to go back!

The food was not so good the cat fish was cooked in old oil and the bbq ribs were dry out and beware if you order off the senior menu they charge you $2.00 up charge to the already pricy meal. the young man the was our waiter failed to tell us about the up charge so I just figured it was his tip as I will never go back there again it was that bad
