The Anglesey Arms - Gwynedd

We have just returned home with big fat tummies after having Christmas dinner at the Anglesey. The portions were extremely generous and the food was fantastic, especially the beef. The price was amazing for what we got. A great time was had by all. Thank you to all the staff.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, the staff is very friendly and polite. The fresh fish is beautiful and the seafront location is amazing. I will definitely be returning.

We stopped in Caernarfon on a Monday evening looking for somewhere to eat and almost everywhere was closed. I remembered this place from when I worked in town and have to say the food was excellent. The Greek salad was huge with a delicious honey mustard dressing, chips well cooked and crispy and the sirloin steak excellent both in quality and cooking. The service was cheerful and efficient. The fabric of the place is desperately in need of some refurbishment and the windows and mirrors need cleaning properly but the welcome, atmosphere and quality of the grub first class.

On our last day in Anglesey, I was searching for a fantastic dining experience. After seeing good reviews, I booked a table at this pub along with a visit to the castle. Unfortunately, we were left very disappointed. They were unaware of our booking at first, but we decided to wait for a table. Once seated, we were informed that there were only four items available on the menu, with many dishes sold out by 2pm. We waited almost an hour for our food, which was underwhelming. I could have made a better meal with frozen fish and chips from the grocery store. Hopefully, we just caught them on a bad day. The setting was lovely, with a nice view.
