Chives Canadian Bistro - Halifax

Tremendous meal. Went with an appetizer of seared scallops with pork belly the scallops were perfectly prepared and the pork belly was delicious. Main course of Lamb Wellington was likewise delicious, combined with the sweet potatoes puree on the plate. Dessert was a Sticky Toffee Pudding, with poached pears and vanilla ice cream; again, perfectly executed. Service was also very efficient. Highly recommend this place.

Incredible food and even more incredible service. Everything was yummy and surprisingly filling. We saved just enough room to share a blueberry lemon panna cotta and a strawberry tart with ice cream...so yummy! Must eat here when you're in Halifax!

We had supper here last night and I don't think we have ever had something so delicious!!!! The atmosphere was amazing. The decor is so beautiful and it has a really cosy feel despite the fact that the place was packed. Surprisingly with it being so busy our waitress Hannah 90% percent sure of the name was AMAZING. She checked on us and did a great job at making us feel like we were her top priority and impressed me when she jokingly scolded my hubby for not eating his veggies which I have been doing for years . To top it all off the food was amazing, and the wait was not long at all. We will for sure come back when in the area! Thanks for a great experience Chives! Becky and Bobby

I had dinner at Chives this past weekend. The food and service were excellent. I had the Arctic Char as a main course and it was delicious. The restaurant was very comfortable, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The decor is great as well. Highly recommended.

I ate here for a friends birthday and It was the best meal we’ve ever had in Halifax hands down!!! I also have Crohn’s disease and am 6+ months pregnant. I have limited diet restrictions and they went above and beyond for me and my meal was amazing!! I felt so cared for and my meal wasn’t bland or boring. The chefs and staff were so kind I was Blown away, I really enjoyed myself and can’t wait to go back!
