Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge

We usually frequent the Symposium in Ancaster and have always been satisfied with the food and service there.Unfortunately our experience with this Symposium was very disappointing.We were with another couple and two out of the four meals were cold.The quality of the food was not equal to the Symposium in Ancaster.Service was also slow as the waitress that was serving us was preoccupied with a party.

We arrived at 5:00 pm and the restaurant was not too busy at that time. The decor and atmosphere is very nice in this cafe/restaurant and parking is ample. My wife and I ordered the early bird special .. chicken souvlaki, which came with fries and a fresh Greek salad. We found the meal to be excellent and the portions were more than adequate to quell any hunger pains. Prior to our meals, we enjoyed a draft beer and a glass of red wine. The waitress was very menu knowledgeable and friendly. The owner greeted us with a warm smile, as he does with all customers. The dessert came with the meal special and it was absolutely decadent. We love this place. If you get there before 5:30, you can take advantage of the moderately priced selection of early bird specials. The restaurant does get quite busy around 6:00 pm. We will return here soon !!

This restaurant has a wonderful breakfast special from Monday to Friday until 11 am. Coffee is included in the price. The prices range from 5.99 to 7.99 and include BLT, western, etc. sandwiches with your choice of fresh fruit or potatoes. They have a regular breakfast as well. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is friendly.

I had the over priced swiss mushroom burger. The whole thing was processed, the fries were frozen (Cavendish?) and the grease left on my plate from the (PC Sirlion?) burger was disgusting. For $16 I thought perhaps a few vegetables would be in order too!!

This has become one of our "go to locations" for a meal. The staff are always friendly, the food is always good, the deserts are excellent. We have never had a bad meal here, portions, price, atmosphere, menu selection, all hit the excellent range.
