City Steam Brewery - Hartford

Each year, we arrive a day early for the Contractor Nation Convention just to enjoy the Naughty Nurse on tap! The architecture is impressive, and there's a fun game room that's perfect for groups!

The staff was friendly and the beer selection was great, but I cannot say the same for the food. I only tried the nachos, and I wouldn't recommend them. They consisted of melted cheese, tomatoes, and onions piled on overly salted chips that were so salty we couldn't finish them. And where was the lettuce and salsa?

I encountered a major traffic accident on Highway 84 while heading into town. Since I noticed it while traveling to Hartford, I decided to take my girlfriend on a date to this restaurant, and it turned out to be fantastic. We spent about an hour and a half there, waiting for the traffic to clear. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the beer was great. Good beer selection, semi pricey but not awful. Nice place overall.

I like this place. The inside was different. I told my husband I felt like I was in a cruise ship. Im a big fan of French onion soup, but I was hesitant as the last couple places I tried was a bust. This place had some good soup! I sat next to the window...it was -2 outside. It was cold by that window. I'd recommend staying away from the windows on the cold days if you dont want to keep your jackets on and around your legs to keep you warm. We went right before a Wolfpack game. It is a quick walking distance away. Definitely will go back.
