The King Johns Tavern - Hartlepool

I was extremely disappointed when I was denied a glass of water for my dog, who is a service dog for epilepsy, at this restaurant in over 20-degree heat. They did not inquire about why my dog was with me and instead stood over me while I was saying goodbye to the people I was with, insisting that the dog leave immediately. It was very disheartening to be made to feel so uncomfortable in this situation.

Walked in and went to grab a table. As we walked past every table they looked dirty and sticky. We finally found a table that looked “clean” and sat down and opened the menu. Well I say opened it, we had to peel it open as it was filthy; took a menu from another table and it was exactly the same I couldn’t stay any longer so we left Can’t imagine what else I would have found if we looked, but I don’t imagine it would have taken long if we tried

Iv been going in here for 20 year and av never experience what i did there was half hour wait on food witch we waited had a lovly paint then one of our meals came out then 2 more meal was delay all got sever at till.same time our 2 meals come out half hour after but in mean time family of 5 got there food and was told was no wait so i ask the young girl where my food was it was so loud people drinking eatting n enjoying there selfs the girl couldnt explain y family of 5 one been in 20 mintres got all there food before us and she walked away and said i was shouting you couldnt hear your self think so we ask manager to come over to sort it out and he was lovly he said sorry but still.didnt reslied that his staff was out of order was really bad service that day

I purchased a meal with drink included ..the drink never arrived no explanation..rip off place ..its more like a kids creche now .avoid it .toilets doors do not even lock...

I typically go elsewhere for fantastic parmos, but after trying the ones from this restaurant, I have been thoroughly impressed. I am now a loyal fan of their parmos and must give compliments to the chef.
