Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Haslet

This time we ordered Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen by DoorDash. This time it was actually good, apart from the feeling of being dehydrated, what I think is a norm for Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. We ordered a 20 PC mixed with 4 pages and 10 cookies. The mixed chicken was pretty good and hot, although the travel time was about 25 minutes. The cookies taste like those from Louisiana. The frits were a bit cold and dry — the cold is not Popeye's fault, but the dryness, possibly. The potatoes of the mash had a lot of severity, which is not preferred here, but if you prefer it, you should get it. The Coleslaw was quite good first until you are at the bottom of the cup and there is a lot of liquid. Last but not least the macaroni and cheese. It did not look so appetizing – there were a lot of cheese, and it seemed like it was left on the pan for a while. Overall, I would probably order from this place again, just because I wasn't lucky elsewhere. It would be rare.

I 'm going to go ahead and give it four stars because the food has been consistent, but on this particular visit they made a terrible mistake. I asked for a regular chicken sandwich with no pickles. What I got was a spicy chicken sandwich with no pickles. Some people this might not be a big deal but for me, and my sensitive little palate (I 'm trying to be nice to myself because you usually I just say because I 'm a wimp . Bear season fries are delicious, I love the bread that chicken sandwich came on. And I think they have delicious mac and cheese. I will make a side note about the mac and cheese that they refer to it as homestyle and that means it has shredded cheddar on top and throughout. For this reason my daughter will not eat it even though it is her favorite tasting macaroni and cheese.

I have been to many Popeyes restaurants in Texas and Louisiana, and the ones in Louisiana are top-notch. That being said, this is the best Popeyes outside of my Cajun home state. The fries are always crisp on the outside, and tender on the inside. The fried shrimp, which are my favorite, are always fresh, and never crusty. This is the most consistently good Popeyes I've seen outside of the Gator state.

I enjoyed a spicy chicken breast and leg served with red beans and rice, along with two cookies and iced tea. They offer a military discount with ID, which is a nice touch. The staff was very friendly, and the service was quick. The food was hot and delicious—a fantastic meal overall!

Consistently quick and friendly! Absolutely, yes! This is our go-to Popeyes, and we’ve always had excellent service. Even during a staffing shortage (which has only happened once in the ten years we’ve lived here), the staff remained friendly and efficient. The customer service at this location is outstanding.
