The Village Cafe Hastings

I’m french and the restaurant is horrible because I do reservation and the dishes arrived 1h30 late.

We walked into the restaurant and were not greeted by the server. He was wearing dirty boots, mud-covered trousers, a stained shirt, and a beanie hat. This was not a good start to our experience. Our food arrived and it was not appetizing - greasy, cold, and had a strange taste. We ate quickly to leave as soon as possible. After finishing our meal, we were asked if everything was okay, but the server walked away without clearing the plates and cups. I was also disappointed to receive my food on a plastic plate, as I prefer proper dishes. The plates were cold, causing the food to cool down quickly. This restaurant used to be good, but now it is terrible. I would not recommend it to anyone, not even people I dislike. Avoid this place - it is a waste of money and in need of a thorough cleaning.

The toast was soggy and crumbling, likely past its prime. The breakfast had a strange cinnamon flavor, and the bacon seemed to be shredded and very fatty. The eggs appeared to be cooked in dirty oil. The only good part was the can of Diet Coke. When I complained to the chef about the poor quality of the meal, he still insisted on charging full price. I would not return to this cafe, especially now that I feel sick and have a stomach ache. The hygiene of this establishment needs to be inspected.

Totally awful food half cooked eggs bacon and Iceland sausages if your paying nearly 9 pound for a breakfast you want quality and not stone cold food

This is the first time I have come back to this establishment and must say its got more expensive and the food has gone down hill since the last time I visited
