Fishtales Grill - Hatfield

We were very disappointed with our experience at Fishtales restaurant. The dinner started off on the wrong foot with the iced tea dispenser being out of order, according to our waiter. The lobster bisque was only lukewarm and the stuffed shrimp dish actually had shrimp lying on greasy breadcrumbs instead of being properly stuffed. The shrimp were so tough that cutting them with a knife and fork was a challenge. Despite these shortcomings, our server was friendly. The clam chowder and starter salad were the highlights of the meal. As Florida residents, we are used to higher standards at our local seafood restaurants and this meal did not meet our expectations.

The food was delicious. The chef clearly knows what they are doing. Service was a bit slow when taking our order, but everything else was great. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

It appeared that the restaurant was short-staffed. Despite many empty seats, they were not seating people. Our server, Chloe, was extremely attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a great personality. Fishtales is lucky to have someone like her working for them.

Being new to the area, we were so looking forward to dining at Fishtales, but it didn't turn out well. We sat outside in the tented area around 5pm, but had to move inside because the flies were attempting to carry us away and eat our sprouts. Firstbeer (Cambridge amber) was great, but the 2nd (Octoberfest) was flat and tasted like a rusty pipe (it was replaced with anotherbeer) Food was so so. Salmon was so salty it was hard to eat, green beans were just mush. We ordered salads with dinner, butthey never came. The sweet potato fries were great, but the ketchup arrived after asking twice as I was almost finished withthe fries. I understand that getting professional wait and kitchen staff is tough right now, but someone should be monitoringand managing the staff. You can see how businesses fail..2 customers at a time.

I had the fish and chips and it was superb. Really good crispy fish, perfect fries, good coleslaw and amazing tartar sauce. And I'll be getting two meals out of it, so a great deal for $17!
