Malo - Havelock North

Went here for a dinner with work colleagues, everything went well in terms of service. The food was excellent. Really loved their special of the day which was roasted half duck, special mention to their cream brulee.

Very good service (with special request for gluten and dairy free food) and even better food! Shared starter (fish cordial), very good! Recommend to anyone, the steak was just perfect!

Fantastic place to go with friends. My wife and a couple of friends had a superb experience. The cuisine as well as the wine is exceptional. I highly recommend the black angus eye fillet, the magnificent Italian and Spanish reds.

Malo was very very good. The accommodated my dog in the courtyard where we sat down and had a quiet meal. The food was well balanced and fresh! I ordered the squid to start, the pork as the main with a side of veges.

Have been there twice so far for both brunch dinner. Have to say that it’s definitely a place that you wanna add onto your list and give it a go when you get chance. For brunch it seems quite casual and easy come and go but for dinner you’d better get a booking first cuz it’s already a full house by just 6:30 p.m. Service was amazing, very smooth service so you hardly feel it since the staffs are all quite experienced. As for food, you can see thoughts have been put into their dishes. I had the cooked breakfast and the crushed gourmets are sth new and interesting to me. Bruschetta got well seasoned mushroom sauce and the lamb is as tender and juice as you can imagine. Crème Brulée is well balanced by the stone fruit with awesome presentation. Feel like don’t miss it if you’re in town is all I need to say in the end !
