Waffle House - Havre de Grace

Excellent food and service. Staff were super friendly and went out their way to be extra helpful.

This Waffle House location is a convenient option for travelers on US-40 (Pulaski Highway), even though it’s just about 3 miles from the Havre de Grace exit off I-95. If you're on I-95, you might prefer the Belcamp or Edgewood Waffle House locations instead. That being said, this place offers a typical Waffle House experience. The diner-style interior is long and narrow, featuring several booths and some counter seating. The restroom appears cleaner than most Waffle Houses, and it seems they've recently updated the bathroom tiles. As for the food, I had no issues with the classic Hash Browns, which were served generously for a very reasonable price. Overall, I found the service to be quite good.

During three out of my last four visits, the server (or anyone else) either did not approach us until after all the other patrons or failed to take our order while prioritizing everyone else's. There was no explanation or even acknowledgment of this behavior. On my most recent visit, there were at least five people behind the counter. A woman handed us cutlery and informed us that someone would take our order, then promptly disappeared into the back. After 15 minutes of watching all these people milling around without anyone checking in on us, I became concerned. We had an appointment in 35 minutes and realized that the hour we thought would be ample for Waffle House—especially since it was initially not very busy—would not suffice if they weren't even taking our order. UPDATE July 5, 2022: The service has significantly improved over the past month. We were served quickly and generally in the order we arrived.

This is the cleanest and most charming waffle house I have ever visited. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. I truly enjoyed my late dinner here.
