The hand pulled noodles and auberginal noodles are amazing. I prefer the steamed dumplings, the pan fried dumplings are a little too oily. high quality and very cheap.
My family and I had just dinner here and it was probably one of the worst we had in the old. the menu had looked good and we thought we would try an older, more established venue than one of the more recent places in darling square or fancier places on main strip in chinatown. pros: tee was ok and hot, pan roasted dumplings ok not the best, but passable, outdoor seating ensured more place cons: wontons tasted like they were bought frozen, left in deep freezer and forgotten, then dug out and in the bland hot water with salt they called suppe. wontons left a motball taste. mapo tofu was extremely bland and tasted more like something I would imagine you coming out of a package. no chili heats and very sticky. the seafood nutshell had a strange brown sauce and hardly anything else in it could not see much seafood. probably the worst dish was the so-called “salt and pfeffer” squid that was boiled in old oil, resembled a failed attempt to homemade wobble rings. on the plate was a strange grayish brown I thought was burned teig and realized it wa safe salt and pfeffer on the side!? usually a good salt and energy squid is not cut into rings and cooked with chili and salt/peffer, baked with some soots. this was absolutely disgusting and tasteless except fat. I really regret not telling the personal. we just wanted to get out quickly and knew that there were problems with translation and just too tired. I'm from Chinese background, cooking Chinese food and thinking I'm not half bad, so if I go out and pay good money for Chinese food, I hope it would be better than what I can't make worse at homemade definitiw! I don't know why this restaurant got so good reviews - I think the people have confused it with chinese noodle restaurant that is a few doors next to menya. I confused the 2 and had planned not to go to the Chinese moodle restaurant house. they don't waste their money here - he got it food dish in market city, as that would be much better and much cheaper. at the end we went to meet fresh to get dessert to help us get rid of the aftertaste!
So good! spice on the table are soy sauce, vinegar, chili. also get free tee while sitting
Disappointing. A large menu, a few things are probably vegan but staff found it difficult to understand what I was asking. I had the noodles with vegetables, which was not great, the veggies were mostly carrots and celery and the sauce was not great. The eggplant dumplings were ok. My brother had the seafood noodles, which wasn’t great either.
