Portalupi Wine - Healdsburg

Thanks to my sister-in-law for a wine tasting. Staff here know their product inside and outside. We all went away with a few bottles of wine. When in Rome right? This is wine country, if you are in town and need a new place to check out, this is a great place. Make sure to reserve a time. Cheers!

As a hardcore Cab and Brunello drinker, I was more than pleasantly surprised by the great taste of their Barbera D’Asti. So much do, that I’m having a case shipped back to me in Chicago. Try it.

BUBBLES! Did someone say BUBBLES? Stop #3 for us ladies and what a way to end the day! In addition to their counter service in front, they have a gorgeous private tasting room and a tasting table in their back area. Our leader had our tastings selected as we were graced with a flute of Rose' sparkling wine topped with You'll not believe this! but a tab of cotton candy!!! What do you do with the cotton candy you ask? Well, you plunk it in your flute of rose! Interesting way to serve your bubbles! I was intrigued. I recommend you taste the Rose naked, bubbles only to get the full flavor and effect of the Portalupi Rose. Then! turn it into some fun and drop that cotton candy in your flute of bubbles and see what happens! Service excellent, Bubbles excellent, Concept with the cotton candy? Excellent Recommend

Portalupi is the best! We fell in love years ago, the first time we tasted them. Through the years we've ordered online, gotten to visit again only once, but finally got to have an in person tasting again this past Monday. They did not disappoint! Not too many wineries in Sonoma have a Barbera, and they have 2! I can't say enough how smooth and delicious they are. And as yummy as the Barbera is, I think the Petite Sirah tops them. At the end of our tasting we couldn't decide on what to buy, because, did I also mention the Primitive, Charbono, or just the everyday drinking wine? So, we joined the wine club! I am excited to be able to continuously have some Portalupi wine in our house!
