Betty's Cafe - Heber City

We had a reservation for a table of 11, and when we arrived, they told us to come on in, but our table wasn’t ready. Eventually, they seated us, got us drinks, and took our orders. After waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes, we watched four tables of four people who arrived after us receive their food before we did. When my 4-year-old was ready to leave, I decided to pay for our drinks and head out. That was when they finally informed us that our food would be coming out next. They mentioned being short-staffed, but I noticed two cooks repeatedly coming out to chat with what I can only guess were regulars. I’m used to the Hub, so this experience was a huge disappointment. Our food arrived cold, our orders were all wrong, our server was rude, and we were even overcharged, which we had to go inside to have corrected. My advice: if you’re not a regular, consider going with just 3-4 people and be prepared to be ignored and treated like an outsider.

The food here is quite good, but the service leaves something to be desired; it's a bit slow. The staff did their best, though it felt like there was a lack of coordination in the front of house. I also have to mention that the prices are quite steep. I ended up spending over $50 on an omelet and French toast, with eggs on the side.

After being seated, it took another 15 minutes for our order to be taken. A couple arrived 20 minutes later and were seated immediately since there were just two of them. Ten minutes after that, their food arrived. I couldn't help but wonder why their order was prioritized over ours. After another ten minutes, my husband asked the waitress if the order sitting under the heat lamps was ours, and she replied, “I don’t know, I didn’t take your order.” When he reminded her that she had, she simply turned and walked away. The manager then came out, and my husband asked about the delay in our food. Instead of addressing our concerns, he responded by saying that my husband needed to show respect for him. We had already spent 55 minutes at the table with three hungry children. I believe it’s the customer who deserves respect in this situation. Sadly, I don’t plan on returning.

Great homemade food. It was a quick stop for us as we were passing through town. Very quick and friendly service! Exactly what we wanted!

I want to leave a good review for this place but there some unfortunate problems. We got our table after waiting which was fine but then we ordered.... it took an hour for our food to come out because they forgot about our table. Additionally, multiple items were incorrect or just missing. The food was okay. I was excited to come here but overall disappointed at the outcome of the visit.
