Spanier is a student bar and restaurant which existed already when I moved to Hildesheim 25 years ago. It's famous for their Calamaris. Snooker tables are avoalble in a separate room.

We have been there regularly for years to have a relaxed evening and play billard. is great, it takes just a bit as it is in the kitchen alone - so bring them time

Never again! this is not loaded! miserable, tasty eating (it is in vain attempt to turn German discounter products into Spanish tapas, the "meat-skewer" dry and hard) for which we had to wait almost 2 hours. the crowning was an unfriendly and completely overwhelmed operation over all dimensions, as well as the owner of the natives who were immediately in jealousy! an absolute no-go in gastronomy! who wants to spend a nice pub evening should go somewhere else.
