Party of 5 majority work in hospitality. 3 of us live in Uxbridge took our visiting friends there after dinner for a quick, cheapish drink. Embarrassed at how we were spoken to when pointing out that mixer in 2 x gins was not right ehich it wasnt. Condescending rude doesn't even do justice to what happened. Shame on you!
This pub has had many managers over the years, but recently there seems to be a policy of not admitting people after a certain time, even if it's up to two hours before closing. With the pub open until 1am and orders taken up until then, it doesn't make sense to A refuse entry at 11pm and B give customers only ten minutes to finish their drinks after purchasing them. They seem to be forgetting that they are in business to make money, not drive customers away.
I recently visited this run-down Wetherspoons for the first time since before Covid, and I was shocked at how much it has deteriorated. The biggest issue is the lack of quality cask ales, with many being either unavailable or flat. The clientele is questionable, with one aggressive individual being asked to leave during my visit. The men's toilets were in a terrible state, with liquid covering the floor and only a warning sign to indicate the hazard. The only positive aspect was that some of the staff were friendly and helpful. It seems that the pub is understaffed, and with some care and support from Wetherspoons, it could potentially improve. Some much-needed attention and an additional staff member could go a long way in fixing the numerous problems that this neglected pub faces.
I usually have really good things to say about this pub but yesterday i was really let down i was sitting out side the pub with my group of mates smoking a cigarette and one of the new mangers bared me for no reason first she said i was drunk then she decided to change her mind and said i was smoking weed when i was not im really disappointed with how the pubs getting ran
Used this pub many times over the years so familiar with the food and choice of ales. Popped in for a pint after shopping and the pub was rammed. Got served reasonably quickly and the girl behind the bar was up against it as she was the only one serving but she was cheerful. Beer was excellent in taste and price. However, the atmosphere was ruined by the constant swearing. I had the misfortune to sit next to a mixed crowd of about a dozen people and the language was terrible especially from the women. In the end got so fed up hearing f this and c that, drank up and left. I'd never take children or ladies to this pub as it wasn't just one table the swearing was everywhere. I know it's a pub but it's not a public bar it's a family pub.
