Hilmar Cheese Company Visitor Center

I ordered two sandwiches at the deli counter. The sandwiches were NOT what was described in the menu and the people behind the counter were rude, unhelpful and more interested in talking to each other than actually helping. I ordered an iced coffee and when I went to go pick it up, someone else had grabbed it. I told the girl behind the coffee counter I didn't receive my drink and she said, what do you want me to do about it. I asked her to make the drink I ordered and paid for. The drink I was given was obviously tampered with and I just threw it away on my way out. Honestly, it is what I expect from hilmar people now. Just rude and ridiculous behavior.

Interesting take on dairy industry. Definitely pro farmers and the industry. The visitor center is a bit dated and geared to school kids.Best part is the window into the curd packing room to see how they pack curds into large blocks they market to other cheese makers.Gift shop is no bargain but has quite a selection. They also have a small dining area and food selection.

Great place to visit. Be sure to see the displays upstairs as well as try the goodies, ice cream, cheese and check the gift shop.We like the curds.

Took the tour, highly recommend it, learned alot about how our California cheese is made and how the process works. Friendly staff. I also ordered a hot sandwich called Bacon me Crazy super delicious.

Oh. My. Goodness, y'all!!! The absolute BEST grilled cheese sandwich and Cheese chowder I have EVER had!!! I also really enjoyed walking around the gift shop and the sidewalk leading to the waterfall you can walk under! Will definitely be back the next time we're in California!
