The food is decent, but if you’re looking for a fantastic experience, this is the place to be in the evening. They offer what I consider the best selection of margaritas on the island, and they taste amazing. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a delicious margarita while watching the sunset over the marina. It’s a perfect evening out!
We stumbled upon San Miguels during a bike ride, and we ended up having a fantastic meal at a great price. My chimichanga was enormous and topped with some of the best guacamole I've ever tasted. My husband ordered the steak fajita and absolutely loved it. The server was very attentive, regularly refilling our water and providing extra napkins without us even having to ask. We can't wait to return!
Everywhere you turn in Hilton Head feels like a strip mall in a retirement community, with everything painted in the same bland colors. This restaurant is no exception. Although you can dine al fresco with a view of the water, which adds a nice touch to the typical Hilton Head vibe, I prefer my Latino restaurants to have a bit more character and edge. Unfortunately, San Miguel's lacks both. The food is standard Tex-Mex, well-prepared but lacking in flair. Additionally, the prices, like many places in Hilton Head, are somewhat steep for what you get. That said, I would still consider returning.
Best Mexican food and atmosphere in the south.
