**Taste: 3/5** I expected more from the swordfish itself, although I really enjoyed the large gigante beans and tomato stew that accompanied it. The burger was delicious, featuring a well-seasoned beef patty, smoked bacon, mayonnaise, and coleslaw. **Texture: 4/5** The swordfish was tender and meaty, while the thick-cut fries that came with the burger were crispy. **Price: 3/5** Having visited other locations of Legal Sea Foods, I was familiar with the price range. However, my disappointment with the swordfish made its $38 price tag feel even more frustrating—though the burger was reasonably priced at $19. **Serving Size: 4/5** The portions were generous, making for a satisfying dinner. **Service: 4/5** We arrived at 5:15 PM on a Friday, and about half of the tables were available. We were seated promptly and offered bread and butter while we looked over the menu. Our drinks arrived 10 minutes after ordering, and our food came out 15 minutes later. **Atmosphere: 4/5** I knew the space had been recently renovated, but I had never been inside before. The interior had a modern nautical feel, and it was more spacious and brighter than I had anticipated. **Parking: 5/5** There was plenty of parking available in the Derby Street Shops plaza.

We made a reservation for six at six o'clock. The open seating arrangement was wonderful—there were no cramped spaces or tables in the way. Three of our group used canes and were comfortably accommodated. We already knew the menu, so I shared a sirloin and enjoyed some scallops and haddock. Everything tasted fresh and was light, not overly heavy. There were smiles all around. Life is good—definitely worth spending the money to enjoy this place!

To start, I ordered oysters, chowder, and sushi, and asked for each dish to be served after I'd finished the previous one. The waitress excelled at timing, which added to our enjoyment—sometimes it's the little things that make a difference. We began with a couple of drinks: I ordered my usual Bulleit Bourbon Old Fashioned, while my wife opted for a White Legal Sangria. I've had the Old Fashioned every Friday night at dinner, but I wouldn't recommend getting it here; it tasted more like bourbon and sugar water with no muddled dark cherries or bitters. On the other hand, the Legal Sangria was fantastic as always, and we sampled both the red and white varieties. Next came some warm dinner rolls straight from the oven, which were delightful. I believe Legal has some of the best rolls around, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. While we enjoyed our rolls, our half-dozen Wellfleet oysters arrived. They were fresh and delicious, and we paired them with both marinara/horseradish and mignonette. Shortly after, a cup of New England clam chowder arrived, and it was perfect—hot, with a great consistency, and packed with clams. I love Legal Seafood's New England clam chowder; there's no denying it. For my main dish, I ordered the Lobster Tempura Roll, which included avocado, lobster, tobiko, spicy mayo, and teriyaki sauce. It was a stunning presentation and a simple but perfectly balanced sushi roll, complemented beautifully by the spicy mayo and teriyaki wasabi soy sauce. It was absolutely delicious, and I left the table feeling satisfied. However, for the $31 market price, there wasn’t much lobster in the roll, which is why I’d rate the experience a full star lower. My wife’s Greek salad was fresh but disappointingly lacked feta cheese; midway through, she wasn’t even sure if it was feta or cotija. She ordered her salmon cooked medium, but it came out slightly undercooked in the center, so she didn’t eat that portion. Overall, it was good but not great. Unfortunately, it seems that they’ve significantly raised their prices, charging for great food that just doesn’t quite live up to that standard. In my opinion, it was average at best.

I love the two for one lobster roll on the website as a new customer Legal Rewards I'm not too sure if it's still being offered it was a smart idea down the south shore Braintree mass I think the manager said to me 35,000 lobster rolls were served. Been here a handful of times. Always great service from the waiters. Sometimes the runners need to think.. if you bring something with fries, offer ketchup. I've gotten oysters, fried fish, test kitchen items and sushi. All great for a legal (Boston area locations are not that great). New decor is good, but I enjoyed the old look. Lots of space though, usually never packed.
