Hiroshima Shutendoji

This little Izakaya restaurant has become our favorite place for dinner, while staying at Hiroshima for three nights. We went there twice just because of the food, the atmosphere, and the warm welcoming staff. Although we don't speak any Japanese, we were able to make it with their English menu sign language we really felt cosseted. We took sashimi (incl. Topshell), Tempura, Fried dumplings w/eggplant, raw squid marinated in sake (yummy yummy), Misu shiro, and finally some sake... This place is highly recommended !

Great food! It is a bit more expensive than usual but the quantity and the quality make up for it! Would recommend!

Really lovely. We came from a recommendation at concierge and it was full, so we went to 2 other places and came back. It was the best out of all! Although we came late they were very hospitable and we spoke to the owners son Hiro san, so friendly and nice. (We sat on the counter). It was all very delicious especially the special Spanish Mackerel and Hiroshima Salmon they had. The collection of sake is also very interesting! Highly recommended. ありがとうございますみんなさん

The baked oysters we're the best. Also a simple English menu was available.

Amazing food. We had the fried fish dish. Not sure exactly what it was called but it was really good. The tofu and ground beef dish was amazing.
