Danny keeps the beer well, and he and the village regulars are always welcoming. Have never eaten there, but what emerges from the kitchen looks good. I believe you have to book as the Strathmore is definitely not a chain eatery with a bar attached!!
This is what country pubs used to be like. Make sure to visit before it's too late. The parish church is located just behind the pub and has ties to the late Queen Mother. Cost per person: £1–10. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5.
This is a lovely country pub. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the garden, and having a barbecue available on the day of our visit was a delightful surprise. The atmosphere is very dog-friendly, with plenty of dogs around, and the people were warm and welcoming. It's a fantastic spot to unwind and enjoy a refreshing drink after a walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
This quaint country pub features a selection of cask and craft ales. They provide a limited food menu from Tuesday to Friday during lunchtime, so it's advisable to check their opening hours before planning your visit. An Ale Festival is scheduled for the end of June. For vegetarian diners, there is a main course and a ploughman’s available. Parking is free, with space for about 12 cars at the back of the pub. The establishment is accessible for wheelchair users via the rear entry from the parking area. Expect to spend between £10 and £20 per person.
Small village pub, normally quiet, small selection on alcohol and softdrinks but it's to be expected since they only get the same faces in most of the time.
