Rice Garden - Hobart

On our way home, we had a delightful experience at this restaurant. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was not only delicious but also exceptionally fresh. While the menu had familiar options, the dishes themselves were refreshingly unique. If we lived closer, we would certainly return!

This restaurant is by far the best Chinese food I've had in the Northwest Indiana area! Although I live in Portage, I’m more than willing to travel to Hobart for a meal here. The food is incredible, and the staff is incredibly friendly! Recently, I made a call and there was a misunderstanding about what time I would pick up my order. When I arrived, it was already prepared—even though they hadn’t started it yet, they had it ready for me in under 10 minutes!

I felt truly pampered by the service because you can actually enjoy a sit-down meal here; unlike many Chinese restaurants where the food just gets tossed onto the table right after it comes out of the kitchen. Here, the food arrives so piping hot and fresh that you have to be careful not to burn your mouth! The flavors were incredible—everything was bursting with taste. Our server was friendly, offered helpful descriptions of the menu items, and was very attentive. The prices were reasonable, the portions were generous, and did I mention the FLAVOR? This might sound funny, but even the fortune cookies were better than most places. I can't remember the brand, but when even the fortune cookies exceed expectations, you know you're in the right spot!

I want to start this review by saying I eat a lot of Chinese food. When I say a lot, I mean a lot! It must be one of the best places I've ever been! The chicken was amazing as well as the spring and egg rolls. Besides, the free donuts are just the sweetest. Our waitress was very friendly and even recommended a court. Amazing service! If I could rate it higher, I would.

Best authentic cuisine. Nothing compares. Worth the trip.
