Greek Islands - Holbrook

I called to ask what was included in the gyro platter and was told it came with meat, rice, pita, and two sides. I ordered one for delivery and was informed it would take about an hour. However, it actually took over an hour and a half! The order arrived without rice, and the two Greek salads were packed together in the same container. Some of the meat was charred and inedible. The portion size was not very satisfying, and still no rice! When I called to address this, the staff member claimed it didn't come with rice. I was not impressed and will not be ordering from them again!

I love Greek food and have visited Greece several times. I often order it when I'm in Bayside, Queens, and my best friend is Greek as well. However, today I ordered moussaka and spanakopita as an appetizer, while my wife chose stuffed eggplant. Both dishes were made with frozen spinach, and I found them absolutely disgusting—definitely the worst Greek food I've ever had. My child also ordered a kids' pizza, and he didn't enjoy it either.

On August 6, 2022, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The staff member at the register, a pale blonde girl, was quite rude. It would be great if management could consider hiring someone with a more positive attitude toward customers. Unfortunately, we have decided not to return, and we will be advising our family and friends to do the same.

My husband and I love their gyros platter. Huge portions. I asked for their yummy lemon potatoes instead of fries and they gave it to me. Been here 3 times since moving back to Long Island from Maryland. My husband never tasted awesome gyros like Greek Island. We like it here, I was reading some reviews, the owners are hard working men, they do everything, I mean cut them a break. We usually get them to smile but I get it, their tired, hot, and running all over. I got them some slack. I do agree though that instead of news on TV play some Greek music. Change the atmosphere to more upbeat. My only criticism but not a complaint because we love the food here.

They don?t give cream for coffee so I got mine black never a call asking me if I wanted something else! Then the salad almost 20 dollars had a few slices of steak and made with cheep iceberg lettuce. I won?t order from here again.
