I am always looking for the quintessential best pastry when traveling in Europe whether it is Cannolis in Italy, Portuguese custard tarts in Portugal or Eclairs, croissants and Madeleines in France. I went into the newly opened Leslie's French Bakery. There is absolutely nothing French about Leslie's. The Eclair was not cream filled but more like an instant pudding having chocolate donut glaze with sprinkles just like they have at a grocery store bakery. The pastries were the same quality. I'm not convinced that butter is even used in any products they offer. People today are wanting to get back to the high quality local markets and foods. And in a local french bakery I expect organic cream, butter, flour, eggs, honey, maple syrup/sugar to start. There are however great baked goods in the Salt Lake Valley and sold at the local markets just not in Holladay... not yet.

Lovely little bakery, the customer service was lovely and helpful! I love the fact that they have large and small eclaires I feel like not every bakery has that and it's super refreshing to see that diversity in selection. I got some of the apple fingers, a custard, some streusel, and a few eclaires I was very happy as all of the pastries were delicious. Will be visiting again!

First, I have to say that the staff at the counter were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pastry itself was quite good, but there was something about it that left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. I couldn't quite put my finger on it; perhaps it was slightly dry? I'm not sure if the cake needed to be denser, or if it required more filling. It might have even been the chocolate sprinkles that contributed to the feeling. On the bright side, the buttercream frosting was delightful. I also couldn't resist trying a mint brownie, which turned out to be very enjoyable. The mint frosting was creamy and not too overpowering, while the chocolate ganache layer added a lovely finishing touch. I think I will definitely return for another visit and to explore more of their offerings!

I bought four different pastries, excited to finally try this local bakery, but I was truly disappointed as they were all inedible. It seems like some people must not have taste buds? It felt like a complete waste of money. I'm really sad about it.
