We've fallen in the middle of the beyond. the food and drinks were excellent. the noise level was a bit too much when they played music videos in televisions with a high volume. they also placed the few groups that were immediately next to each other, which did not help in the conversation.
Ra is probably our very popular restaurant/bar in the culinary desert, that is the joliet area. Although it is not really joliet, technically homer glen. eating is amazing and unique, a surprise in consideration of its location, art out in the middle of nowhere on a stretch of IL7, which seems eternally in the construction located in a building that looks as if it were originally designed to buy a tractor / repair warehouse! the jibaritos top the list of the best we have ever had anywhere (not that they have them at many places in chicago and the el barquito de guineo is amazing, unique, tasty! if they want mundane, they have clogged over the best kokos we had everywhere. the dishes are unique and worth taking home! if you want to pulpa (octopus try any of their dishes that contain the ingredient. even if they don't like oktopus, try one of the dishes and they will! the bar menu is also unique and amazing. the puna is fantastic, but the king is her caipirinha. it is so tasty and refreshing that cachaça is now so much standard in our fleet cabinet as casa noble tequila and any good wodka! the music and the ambiente is a fun mix of bumping latin beat and oldschool-rap/hip-hop (i.e. MY-era!: I dare to go there and not the need to get the breath. last but not least is her personal. they are very nice and very attentive. in particular, the young, bearded guy with the voice that sounds eternally like he screamed for hours at a concert in the night before, is one of our favorite servers throughout the chicagoland area. he is also the type that always makes the caipririnhas right! (sometimes they run from cachaça and other barkeepers try to replace in another alcohol. And it fails every time. and we catch them! go to ra, often the experience is unique, fulfill culturally refreshing!
Menu was good with a small selection of entrees that looked very well thought out. Though the menu looked promising, the food was mediocre and lacked flavor. Despite there only being about 6 others tables occupied, the service was below standards. Food took a very long time and could t seem to get the attention of our server despite it not being too crowded. Had to grab another server just to get our check.
Went to this restaurant on Mothers Day. i am Puertorrican and was looking forward to some good puertorrican food. I ordered the puertorican lasagna and it was awful. Puertorican food is not spicy any chef would know that . This dish was too spicy for me, my son and my husband( who loves spicy food) would not eat it. Their food is expensive Mexican food. my daughter ordered tacos and was charged extra for lettuce and tomatoes in the tacos. My husband ordered the quesadillas and they were greasy and soggy. They charge for everything including extra chips for the guacamole. Their drinks are expensive also. Because we had six people in our party they automatically included a 22% tip. I was very disappointed and will not return.
