Happy Paradise - Hong Kong

The seating I was given was the worst in the restaurant. The table was set along the long sofa but the back of my seat was half column half sofa back. This is not a proper seating, and it gave me a very bad first impression of this restaurant. The food tasted good but definitely not wow as in other reviews but the prices are on the high side. The restaurant is in bar setting with 90s canton pop as background music. Foreigners might find it exotic, but we found it’s a bit loud. Given to all these situations, even we wanted to have a drink, we just left to another place for that.

Loved Happy Paradise. The food was terrific as were the cocktails. The wine list was limited, but with food this good who cares.

I've followed Anthony Bourdain for a while and when I saw his visit to my hometown HKG, that he picked Happy Paradise, I know I have to check it out when I'm in town! Although there were mixed reviews online, I've got to say I LOVE every dish served that night. Our server, Charlie, suggested the Chef's Tasting Menu so that we could have a bit of everything and it was the best idea! Can't wait to go back again! Thanks team HP :
