I had a great experience at this restaurant! The customer service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I will definitely recommend it to more people to come and try it out.
I ordered the lasagna, and the sauce reminded me of Chef Boyardee ravioli — not in a good way. The aftertaste was overwhelming, almost like I had eaten a bunch of hot peppers. I do not recommend this place.
I ordered takeout from a male person, one of two workers in the restaurant at that time. He entered something on the cash register and looked at me as like he wanted a payment. So I handed him my credit card and he inserted it into a hand held instrument. He then removed my card and handed it back to me. I stood there for a few seconds expecting a receipt to be given to me. But he did not give me; instead asking me if I wanted a receipt and I said yes. He then extracted the receipt from the hand held instrument and place on the table between us. I picked up the receipt up and, without looking at it, stuck it in my pocket. He then prepared my order and handed it to me. Upon getting back to my office, I took the receipt out of my pocket to look at. It reflected the SALE AMOUNT of $11.52 for my order. Immediately below I was shocked to see a TIP AMOUNT of $11.52; then below a TOTAL AMOUNT of $23.04. I was not informed of the TIP AMOUNT, and if did, would not have approved it. I immediately called the restaurant, but only a voice mail responded. I left a message of the unauthorized TIP charge and will report his dishonesty. (I did file a complaint with the Office of Consumer Protection, and shared the experience with the Better Business Bureau). It questioned whether if I (80 years of age) am the first customer he did this to. I would not be surprised if there were others; possibly not having caught it. It was however only $11.52 charged on my credit card. But would $23.04 have been charged if I did not caught it and called to complain? Further, how long have this place been in business and accepting charge cards? Are receipts provided only if customers are asked and replied yes? BEWARE!
Expect to take a nap after picking up lunch from here. Located in the Remington building off Bishop, I come here and order the lasagna when I need a quick carb fix. Don't expect high end Italian food. The lasagna is sweet and is paired with veggies. Again, I come here knowing the lasagna isn't super authentic but I swear they pack 10lbs worth of lasagna for such an affordable price. I would skip the garlic bread if you're offered.
