Tucked away on Mapunapuna, I stumbled across this place by chance while waiting for my order next door at Kau Kau Grill.Got the lunch bento. Had a really neat variety of local Japanese items. A good amount of food for the price point and the bento even came along with a drink!

We were figuring out where to buy lunch since places to eat in Mapunapuna are very limited since Ranch 99 closed down and someone suggested Taka's. This was my first time trying this place and the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the oriental garlic chicken plate which was one of the specials of the day. It came with two scoops white rice and one scoop spaghetti noodle salad. The flavor was perfect, not too garlicky. I actually didn't go there, my coworker ordered and picked up for me so I'm unable to comment on service or ambiance. Next time you're in the area, give this place a try! Looking forward to trying other items on the menu!

Family owned take out biz in the heart of mapunapuna. Open early from 5am for breakfast, lunch menu from 1030am. Cash or credit card accepted. Come here quite often, easy to phone order then pickup at the time specified. Lunchtime is busy so parking is tough and waits can be long if theres lots of orders so be patient and prepared. Great prices on their food and all lunch plates come with a drink of your choice?Recommend their daily specials and the smoked bento??Parking: 4 spaces in the front but might have to double park if busy.

Love, love, love this place! I had the excellent loco moco last time and had to return for the French toast that a lot of people seemed to be ordering. I chose the homemade corned beef hash as the accompanying breakfast meat. I was transported to heaven! Terrific food and happy, friendly service at the counter. Definitely recommend.
