Írjon visszajelzéstWe discovered this hidden gem thanks to Yelpers. We love the chirashi domburi with FRESH raw sashimi. I love the fact that it does not include rubbery tako or squid. The white rice is lightly sweet and just right. The price is unbeatable. I've had chirashi bowls at other Japanese restaurants but Take's does it the best! We pick up 2 bowls and feast on them once a week!
Located in the old 99 Ranch Market/ 99 Moanalua Food Court. I was in the neighborhood and craving some sushi/ raw fishy type of breakfast. Took out the good old trusty Yelp app and found this gem! :D I was mesmerized by the 'Kaisen Chirashi ' pictures I saw. Such a great price, nice variety, and supporting a moms and pops type of business? Heck yah! Take 's Fish Market is located in the back corner near the big green lettered signs for 'LIVE FISH ' and 'SEAFOOD '. I stood in line waiting. I looked into the chilled display and saw different platters of sashimi, along with a picture of this beautiful Kaisen Chirashi. I wasn 't sure if I had to wait if new ones were made and put into the display or if I had to order? Ahem... I feel your judgement. It 's my first time keh, excuse me, I don 't usually venture out of town LOL. The guy in front of me ordered like 5 or 6 of the chirashi bowls! Braaaaah, (deep in thought emoji they must be legit good if this guy gonna buy these bowls for everybody at his job lol. Also, in my mind I was like :O OOOH NOOO... don 't buy all of them! I hope not gonna be sold out. Cause I just like try one XD. The sweet little Japanese grandpa was carefully packaging the guy 's order. Stacking two bowls and gently placing them into the paper bag, then taping it closed. I really admire Japanese culture in presentation and respect for wrapping/ bagging a customer 's items. Along with handling transactions and accepting card/ cash and handing back over card/ cash. Totally miss this type of attitude when I get my takeout food from other places. Usually all 'hammerjank kind ' thrown into the bag with the 'sauce spilling out kind '. LOL. Like it legit made my heart warm when I received my food. You could really feel the care and respect that went into making the food. When it was my turn I decided to order two chirashi bowls. Because cannot just have one! It 's such a beautiful creation (heart eye emojis . The little Japanese grandpa asked if a short wait for the order would be okay, and of course I said yes : What, I get my order freshly made too?!? I was totally invested in sampling this little chirashi bowl. He went behind the clear curtains to help make the orders as the person behind me also ordered a chirashi bowl. I think the little Japanese grandma was in charge of making the chirashi bowls. As I waited I also noticed various frozen items for sale in a side fridge. Items such as scallops (from Japan I think , breaded fish and croquet items, marinated mackerel, fishcake, and organic natto. Along with another fridge that sold drinks like sashimi soy sauce, cola, itoen green tea, bottled water and more. The little Japanese grandpa walked through the clear curtains carrying a chirashi bowl in his hands. My order was finished! I watched him package my items carefully into a paper bag, placing a piece of hard paper in between the two bowls as to not break the cover and smash the precious contents. SO THOUGHTFUL! I paid and giddily went home to enjoy them. When I got home I was super impressed! The rice was so perfect, every grain twinkled in each bite. There was a variety of color and textures lined a long the top. Ahi, hamachi, tartare ahi, imitation crab, shrimp, tamagoyaki (rolled up egg , seaweed salad, cucumber, gari (pickled ginger , and wasabi. There was another little paper bag filled with napkins, chopsticks and soy sauce in plastic containers. So perfect! And the best of all the amazing price! It 's not like $30 but only like $10 and some change. Please try this chirashi bowl out!
Shoutout to Vina P. for putting this place on my radar! I saw her pics and review, and it made me want to check it out on my day off. It's located in the left side of back of the old 99 Ranch Market in Moanalua. There's a parking lot with ample parking spaces especially since the plaza is still basically a ghost town (saaaad). I got the chirashi bowl which contained two cuts of ahi (I believe), hamachi, tamago, crab, shrimp, cucumber and seaweed. The fish looked and tasted really fresh! The The only downside was the portion. It looked like it was enough, but I still felt kind of hungry afterwards, and I'm usually not a big eater. Maybe I was just super hungry when I went. Overall, cheap and great quality fish for a quick bite. They also sell sashimi and regular fish, I believe. P.S. If they run out of bowls, you can ask them make one for you if there's still fish!
I love this so so so so much. I almost don't want to write a review because I don't want the secret to get out. This is a very mom and pop fresh fish market in a large space near the airport. It's very unassuming and not fancy with bright lights or anything. The place is very clean, there are seats that are clean and there's a clean bathroom. Everyone that works here is also super nice. The older gentleman worker at the fish market is super nice. I recommend getting here super early because things sell out super fast. It took me 3 tries before I was finally able to get some tuna and chirashi. I still have yet to try the fresh crab. Everything here is super fish and delicious. If you are a fish lover, definitely come here and try it for yourself. Remember, this is nothing fancy so don't come here with that mindset. It's your local mom and pop with wallet friendly sushi. Can't wait to come back! Thanks for being amazing as always!
Tucked away in 99 ranch market is Take's Fish Market. Mr. Take is very humble and proud of what he does. The sashimi is high quality and the color is amazing. Have you ever stared at the sunset and admired its beauty? I stare at the Chirashi bowl, admire its beauty, then order one. The Chirashi bowl has rice on the bottom and assorted cuts of sashimi, a shrimp, and wasabi on top. It's an amazing deal for $10.99. If you don't see any in the display, wait your turn then ask Uncle if he get any more. He might have some in the cooler or make it for you! : Support your local mom and pop shops!
