Having not got off the ferry at Bilbao until 1330 we wanted to get a few miles behind us before eating and it was actually the need to find a toilet that led us to take the next exit with the spoon and fork sign. This restaurant used to be on the N1 which was then the main road north before the motorway cut it off so you have to follow a couple of looping roads to get there but it was worth the effort. It was gone 1600hrs when we arrived so while we were welcomed we were told that all that was left was lamb and salad. That sounded good to us so we ordered. We were soon served piping hot portions of lamb fresh from the oven in its own juices with an enormous loaf of bread each and a simple salad. I had a whole leg of suckling lamb and my wife a side of lamb. It was delicious and by far the best roast lamb I have ever tasted! We also had home made desserts and coffee before happily paying the 49euro bill which included wine and water. We have taken their card and will definitely be taking in this small but excellent restaurant on our next trip north.

Nice and confortable place if you are in the way to Madrid(N-I) Everything is delicious and staff really friendly...probably the place to have a roasted lamb with a refreshing Clarete(rose wine).

Bar/carte de recreo de modesto, but economic path. a quick stop, without pretensions and where you can eat for 8 or 9€.

Very good place to make a stop and regain the strength with any option of the menu they offer, snacks of rations or combined dishes. excellent service for your speed and goodness. When you fill the tables, it's rare to delay serving. I usually ask for a little snack and a good tortilla puncture, but the rest I'm sure is also of quality. Congratulations, I'm still going to stop there when I'm in the first one.
