I always go to Bagels and Barneys. The only thing I would recommend is asking for light cream cheese on your bagel. If not, they LOAD IT ON. But all of their cream cheeses are yummy and the people are always quick and friendly.
I stopped by a few times recently with my grandmother, and I must say, it's a great breakfast spot! I enjoyed their whole wheat bagels on both visits—one topped with vegetable cream cheese and the other with chive. Both bagels were perfectly toasted, and the cream cheeses were fresh and generously spread. I was also pleased with the condiments station; everything is self-serve, and if creamer isn't available, it's included with your coffee at no extra charge. The interior is simple and lacks booths, but it was very clean. My only minor complaint is that the bagel prices are a bit higher than what I was accustomed to in New York, with a toasted bagel and flavored cream cheese costing nearly $4. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth another visit!
When we arrived, there was no line and no wait at all. I ordered a whole bagel with their homemade bacon horseradish cream cheese, which turned out to be the perfect combination. The staff was very friendly. However, I did notice that the air vents in the ceiling were clean but could use some dusting in the corners.
I visited Watkins Glen State Park and spent a few days in the area. This place is fantastic for a quick breakfast. Everything tasted incredibly fresh (I noticed they cracked the eggs for my sandwich right in front of me, so I’m confident everything is fresh). My breakfast sandwich was outstanding—crispy bacon, freshly made eggs, and cheese all on a wonderfully soft croissant. I would definitely recommend it!
