Connie's Seafood Wayside - Houston

This restaurant is a true gem in the community that has stood the test of time. I have fond memories of being around 11 years old and enjoying their shrimp cocktail, which was my favorite dish. Since then, my taste buds have broadened, and I now appreciate all of their seafood offerings. However, whenever I'm craving that shrimp cocktail, this is the place I always return to. Even though I no longer live in Houston, I’m more than willing to drive two hours just to indulge in their fantastic food.

I ordered the #1 meal, which was supposed to include rice, fries, salad, lime, tartar sauce, and shrimp. However, this time I received just fish, shrimp, and rice—that was it. The service was incredibly disappointing. I also ordered steamed oysters but received raw oysters instead. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she didn't seem to care at all. She took my card and kept it for 20 minutes before finally charging me the balance. What on earth? Additionally, my beer margarita was completely melted by the time it arrived. The management saw me through the window but didn't come out to address the situation. I doubt they’ll respond to this complaint either. I was there just 20 minutes ago.

The food is decent, but I suspect they may have a rodent problem. When I picked up my takeout, the foam container had a big hole in the bottom and several small holes on the sides, causing my rice to spill out. This really raises concerns about their sanitation practices. Ugh! I won't be returning to any Connie's Seafood location. Seriously, folks.
