Honestly, it's the best mochi I've ever tasted, and I've tried plenty because I'm a big fan! I only wish this bakery were located closer to me on the East Coast. The egg custard is fantastic too, featuring a wonderfully flaky crust.
Still the best place for flaky egg tart shells! I've been enjoying egg tarts from ECK for years. The silky custard, crumbly shell, and overall sweetness of the tart are just perfect. If you warm them up in a toaster, they become even more delicious! Yum! The bakery also offers other delightful pastries. The fried sesame red bean ball was incredibly tasty with the perfect filling to skin ratio. The Japanese cheesecake was light and fluffy—it was amazing! You should definitely try all their pastries! You won’t regret it!
I understand that this restaurant is famous for its incredible egg tarts, and I completely agree—they are fantastic! However, I was particularly blown away by their Zongzi. These delicious treats are made of glutinous rice filled with meats like pork and sausage, all wrapped in bamboo leaves. The flavor and texture were truly exceptional. I highly recommend trying them, especially around the Dragon Boat Festival. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash, so be sure to keep that in mind before you visit. On a positive note, they do accept Venmo, which was really convenient!
There’s only a few places that make sticky rice dumpling, this place make it the way my grandmother would make. The crust for the egg tart is nice and flaky. The crust on the pineapple bun is very flaky. NYC Chinatown was the last place that I had a pineapple bun with s very flaky crust. The pineapple bun have no filling. One of my friend was surprised that there’s no filling. He was expecting a custard filling. The buns with the custard filling were all sold out early in the day.
Best egg tart In Chinatown!! Definitely support this place! Watch their open hours ...just like the other bakeries in Chinatown they do close early. I feel that they should expand their menu but their baked goods are very traditional.
