North Italia – BLVD - Houston

Food was excellent. The eggplant appetizer was cooked to perfection. The bolognese, the pasta, and the shrimp were excellent.

North Italia has always been one of my favorite restaurants to go to when it comes to celebrations and overall dining. I have been a loyal customer to North since I’ve known about it which has been several years now. I can truly say that overall North is not the same and every visit I am a little saddened. To start I called to adjust headcount for my reservation celebrating my 31st birthday, to increase from 4 to 6. The host told me that a manager would call me back within the day to see if they could make that happen. The manager did not call me back and my reservation was Tuesday the 15th. My party ended up only being three which worked out and we ended up being sat by the server station. I have worked in the industry for eight years and I know how these things go. I did not make a fuss about my table because the rest of my party was fine with sitting there. My waitress was kind however seemed to be in a rush, I understand because she had a full section at the time. We placed our orders and the food took a good while to come out and when it did it was cold. I had to send my pizza back and my guest did not receive her pasta. I ended up waiting another 20 to 30 minutes for my new pizza and by then my guests had already finished their food. The waitress came back and asked if a manager had came by and I said no she had not. After I had received my pizza and was halfway through eating it the manager stopped by and offered to take care of desserts, which was nice. Not once during the whole entire meal did the server or manager acknowledge my birthday not that I was looking for it but it would’ve been nice since they do ask what are you celebrating in the booking section.

It was freezing in the restaurant! I was very cold as was my entire family.

The food and service at the restaurant were excellent. The Spicy Rigatoni was very spicy, so we asked the waitress for some extra white sauce to help tone it down. The dish was amazing! My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan and said it was fantastic, with a huge portion size. We were too full to try dessert this time, but we plan to share a plate with a salad and get dessert on our next visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered! The service was excellent!
